Clinics & Services
Nurses Clinics

We have one Practice Nurse and one Nurse Practitioner within the group. Their various tasks include general health checks, well person checks, asthma and diabetes control, travel advice and dietary and smoking cessation advice.
Practice Treatment Room Nurses
Nurses are available in the treatment rooms during every weekday. When requested to do so, you can make an appointment to see the Treatment Room Nurses if you require dressings, injections or treatment for sprains, cuts, etc. They perform blood tests, ECGs, etc under the direction of the GP and will always refer you to your doctor if they consider this necessary.
Children's Immunisations
Immunisation is a way of protecting ourselves from serious disease. Once we have been immunised, our bodies are more able to fight those diseases if we come into contact with them. It is important that your child has their immunisations at the right age. This will help keep the risk of your child catching these diseases as low as possible.
You will be sent reminders of when your child is due for their immunisations.
Please see the Vaccinations Section for detailed information.
Chiropody Clinic
The Chiropodist has a consulting room in one of our health centres. She is not employed by the Practice and patients who are eligible to use her services must be referred by their doctor.
Family Planning Service
If you would like advice on any aspect of contraception, fertility awareness or sexual health, we have female doctors and practice nurses available.
Flu Vaccinations
We advise all patients over the age of 65 to be vaccinated against influenza.
It is also recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.
Pneumovax Vaccinations
If you are aged 65 or over we also offer immunisations to help protect you against pneumococcal infection which can cause diseases such as pneumonia, septicaemia (blood poisoning) and meningitis.
Health Promotion
We encourage all our patients to share the responsibility for their health, both in preventing disease and treating existing disease. Prevention really is better than cure. Many of the most serious diseases can be prevented by a healthy lifestyle and without drugs.
For our patients' wellbeing we provide the following services:
- Well Person
- Well Woman
- Diabetic
- Asthma
- Hormone Replacement Therapy
- Travel
- Smoking Cessation
In two of our surgeries we have blood pressure machines in the waiting rooms. These are available to you at any time during surgery opening hours.
