The following teams work from our sites or in close liaison with us, but are not employed by the Practice. If you have feedback on these services, please contact them direct.
Community nurses are attached to the practice and visit patients who are confined to their homes and need nursing assistance. Patients are referred to this service by their doctor, but once referred, they can be contacted by ringing them direct on 01273 845932.
As soon as your pregnancy is confirmed and you have seen your doctor, you will be asked to make a booking appointment with a Community Midwife. The midwife will share with your doctor in your antenatal care and arrange for you to attend parentcraft classes. She will also care for you and your baby after delivery.
Clinics are held on Mondays at The Gattons Children & Family Centre, Royal George Road, Burgess Hill RH15 9SL and all day on Tuesdays and Friday afternoons from the Antenatal Clinic at Princess Royal Hospital RH16 4EX.
How to Make an Appointment: Appointments for midwifery clinics can be made by telephoning the community midwives office at PRH on 01444 441881 extension 8414/8418 between 8.30am and 9.30am each weekday morning. Midwives will then make your next appointment each time you are seen.
The Health Visitors aim to provide support and advice to families with children under the age of five years, and expectant mothers, on a wide range of aspects of parenting, as well as on healthy living and health care. You can meet with them at the regular Child Health Clinics which are held at Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint, or at any of the groups they run, or they may visit you at home. They can be contacted by telephoning them on 01273 847832.
