Update to Childhood Immunisation Schedule – MMR Now Includes Chickenpox

From 1 January 2026, the MMR vaccine given to children will also protect against chickenpox (varicella). This change is part of the national immunisation schedule.
What does this mean for parents?
- Children will be invited automatically when they are eligible.
- Eligibility is based on date of birth and criteria set by NHS England.
